Contract
The primary purpose of the project is to design an industrial-scale facility for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant to remove transuranic elements from evaporate concentrate and water (rainwater penetrating through the roof of reactor protective enclosure, condensate and splashing water for better control of air-borne radioactivity).
Description
The project is composed of five tasks:
- Preparatory activities
- Development of design documents for the facility
- Preparation of technical specifications and tendering documentation
- Concept elaboration for treatment of secondary waste
- Dissemination of project results and final report

NUKEM provides the following services:
- Design documentation for the facility, including environmental impact assessment and safety assessment documentation
- Detailed technical specification, tendering documentation and cost estimate for delivery of the facility
- Concept for treatment of secondary waste
- Complete technical documents package for the facility and final safety analysis report
