Legal basis and storage duration

The legal basis for possible processing of personal data and for storage duration thereof may vary and is explained in the following passages.

Web page analysis

For the purposes of analysis and optimisation of our web pages, we use different services which are further explained below. They enable us, for example, to analyse how many users visit our website, what information is of most interest and how users discover our online content. Among other things, we collect the data regarding the web link that directed the user to our web page (so-called referrer), the particular subpages of the web page that were visited, as well as how often and how long a certain subpage was viewed. This helps us to improve our online content and make it more user-friendly. The collected data is not used to identify individual users. The collected data is anonymous or, at most, pseudonymous. The legal basis for this is established in item (f) Art. 6 (1) of the GDRP.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). The features of the service that we use are “Universal Analytics” features. They make it possible to attribute data, sessions and interactions across multiple devices to a pseudonymous user ID, thus giving us the ability to analyse the activities of a user on all devices.

Google Analytics uses Cookies which allow your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is normally transferred to a Google server in the USA, where it is saved. If IP anonymisation has been enabled on this website, your IP address will be truncated in advance by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other countries outside of the European Union which are signatories to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA before it is truncated. The IP address identified from your browser by Google Analytics will not be merged with other data collected by Google. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google uses this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities and to provide other services for the website operator related to the use of the website and internet usage. In doing so, we pursue our legitimate interest in data processing. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is established in § 15 (3) of the German Telemedia Act and item (f) of Art. 6 (1) of the GDRP. The data we send that is linked to cookies, user identifying information (e.g. user ID) or marketing ID will be deleted automatically in 26 months. The data, whose retention period has expired, is deleted automatically once a month. Further information on the terms of use and data protection can be found at

https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.

You can prevent the storage of cookies via the relevant setting in your browser software. Please note, however, that in this case you may not be able to use all of the functions on this website. You can also prevent the recording of the data collected by the cookie with respect to your use of the website (including your IP address), as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser-add-on. Opt-out cookies prevent your data from being collected during any future visits to this website. In order to prevent the collection of data by Universal Analytics across multiple devices, you must opt out on all the systems that you use. Click here to place an Opt-Out cookie.

Use of Google web fonts

This website uses fonts of the service Google Fonts. Google Fonts is a service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). These web fonts are integrated by a server call, usually from a server operated by Google Inc. in the USA. This tells the server which of our web pages you have visited. The IP address of the browser running on the visitor's end device is also stored by Google.

The legal basis for the data processing is established in item (f) Art. 6 (1) of the GDRP.

Further information can be found in the Data privacy policy of Google Inc., which you can access here:

External providers and partners receive your data only to the extent necessary for the processing of your order. In such cases, the scope of transmitted data is limited to the required minimum. Our service providers obtaining access to your personal data are obligated by us to comply with the provisions of data protection laws when processing the order, as provided in Art. 28 of the GDPR. Please also see the data privacy policy of the respective provider. The respective provider is responsible for the content of the external services, at the same time we reasonably check the providers with respect to meeting the statutory requirements.

It is important for us to process your data within the EU / the EEA. However, it may be the case that we use service providers that process data outside of the EU / the EEA. In such cases, we ensure that prior to the transmission of your personal data the recipient has created an adequate level of data protection, meaning that through EU standard contracts or an Adequacy decision, such as the EU-Privacy Shield, a level of data protection is reached which is comparable to the standards within the EU.
