As part of the business development in the Middle East, a Cooperation Agreement with Al Mostadama (SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENTAL WORKS CO. LTD) was signed End of November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Al Mostadama is a leading company for various waste management and recycling projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Feeling committed to the company’s name that means “sustainability” when translated into English, Al Mostadama implements the state-of-the-art technologies to the highest safety requirements. In Al Mostadama NUKEM has found a partner at an early stage who responds directly to this development trend and, thanks to its outstanding position in the Saudi Arabian industry, develops the available potential together with us.

The Cooperation Agreement sets the stage for cooperation in the field of radioactive and hazardous waste management in Saudi Arabia. In particular, Al Mostadama and NUKEM intend to work together for the end customer Saudi Aramco.

According to the National Nuclear Energy Plan adopted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in March 2018, at least 16 nuclear power plants shall be constructed over the next 20 years. Major state-owned enterprises such as Saudi Aramco play a pivotal role in this context. As part of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has made it its task to implement a sustainable transformation of the economy.

Together with Al Mostadama, we will support the local regulatory authorities and contribute our experience for the safe operation of waste treatment facilities for radioactive and hazardous waste.

A long-term cooperation was sealed in this regard.
