NUKEM Technologies signed Memorandum of Understanding

The companies NUKEM Technologies GmbH, ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH with the subsidiary ALD France S.A.S. and E.ON Technologies GmbH have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The purpose of the MoU is to set forth the framework under which the companies could work on a concept for local melting services to recycle radioactive metallic waste of shut down nuclear power plants.

NUKEM Technologies Realigned

Effective from 1 January 2014, the newly founded NUKEM Technologies Engineering Services GmbH, a subsidiary wholly owned by NUKEM Technologies GmbH, took over all NUKEM Technologies’ contracts in the area of design and engineering solutions. NUKEM Technologies GmbH will now focus on turn-key projects and assume responsibility for international business outside the German-speaking countries for both of the companies.

Global settlement regarding the Waste Treatment Project at Ignalina NPP signed

NUKEM Technologies is glad to announce that yesterday Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant and NUKEM Technologies signed the so-called Global Settlement regarding the so-called B234 Project.

The comprehensive agreement covers project changes as well as schedule adjustments.

After the long-lasting negotiations this agreement will now provide the basis for completing the Waste Treatment and Storage Facility in the shortest possible time.

The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation SOC Limited (NECSA), Rosatom’s United Company NIAEP- ASE and NUKEM Technologies GmbH have signed the Memorandum of Understanding

NECSA, United Company NIAEP- ASE and NUKEM Technologies GmbH (Germany, 100% subsidiary of “Atomstroyexport”) have signed the Memorandum of Understanding during the Rosatom organized Nuclear Industry Suppliers Forum “ATOMEX Africa” held on November 25, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

NUKEM Received Order for New Waste Treatment Centre Project at Russian Kursk NPP

NUKEM Technologies GmbH, Alzenau, has been tasked with turn-key design and supply of processing facilities for a new waste treatment centre to be constructed at Kursk NPP in Russia. This project is NUKEM’s contribution to safe and environmentally-friendly disposal of radioactive waste currently stored and still to be generated at Kursk NPP. NUKEM will be subcontracted by Russian NIKIMT-Atomstroy, the successful bidder in an open tender for turn-key construction of the waste treatment centre.
