Contract

The contract includes design, manufacturing, testing, supply, installation supervision, commissioning and personnel training related to solid waste treatment centre at the Leningrad NPP.

Description

The Leningrad NPP constructed a building for the waste treatment centre and made available the necessary infrastructure and auxiliary systems. Solid radioactive waste is delivered to the WTC by trucks. WTC technical data: Incinerator throughput: 50kg/h of solid waste Compactor throughput: six to eight 200l drums/h with compacting force of 20,000kN. The final product loaded in concrete containers is consigned for interim storage. NUKEM was responsible for all aspects of the projects. This included project management, design, planning and supply of equipment and systems, documentation, safety analysis reports, procurement, installation and commissioning.
