Contract
NUKEM has been awarded a contract for the Basic and Detail Design for the Radioactive Solid Waste Treatment Equipment (SRTF) for Xudapu NPP, the procurement and supply of selected equipment, technical and supervision services of installation and commissioning of the system.
Description
The radioactive solid waste treatment equipment is used to treat wet radioactive waste (spent resin, activated carbon, still residues and slurry, etc.) and dry waste (discarded cloth, plastic, rubber, wood, small metal parts, etc. and other waste treated as dry waste) generated by the VVER 1200 units and future planned AP 1000 units on the site.The systems offered include: spent resin treatment system (90KPM), still residues treatment system (90KPN), dry waste treatment system (90KPG), solid waste transfer and cement immobilization sys-tem (90KPD).
Services
NUKEM is responsible for the design of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control equipment as well as accessories necessary for the radioactive solid waste treatment equipment. The equipment includes necessary shield by so that the radiation dose rate received by operators and the public does not exceed the defined limit.
