Renewal of Hot Cell 6 at PSI

The subject matter of the contract is upgrading of hot cell 6 at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) and preceding decontamination and dismantling of the components currently located inside the hot cell. The contract covers design services and delivery of hardware.

The renewal hot cell 6 includes:

• Decontamination of the hot cell and all components inside the cell
• Size reduction and packaging of the components in line with effective regulations
• Hot cell cleaning
• Installation of new components

NUKEM provided the following services:

• Decontamination and removing components out of the hot cell
  • Remote decontamination
  • Manual decontamination
  • Dismantling of components
• Planning, project management and documentation
• Installation and commissioning
• Hardware components, including procurement and transport
