Dr. Hauke Grages (39) took over the lead of NUKEM Technologies‘ business unit Western Europe and Asia.

Dr. Hauke Grages who studied civil engineering at the TechnicalUniversity of Darmstadt possesses deep expert knowledge of power plants. He succeeds Ulf Kannengießer who had left NUKEM Technologies.

NUKEM Technologies GmbH, Alzenau, has been tasked with turn-key design and supply of processing facilities for a new waste treatment centre to be constructed at Kursk NPP in Russia. This project is NUKEM’s contribution to safe and environmentally-friendly disposal of radioactive waste currently stored and still to be generated at Kursk NPP. NUKEM will be subcontracted by Russian NIKIMT-Atomstroy, the successful bidder in an open tender for turn-key construction of the waste treatment centre.

NUKEM Technologies, the specialist Nuclear Engineering Company, has won a three-year contract to work with the European Commission in providing support to Power Plant and Nuclear Facility operators in the Ukraine to improve the overall Radioactive Waste situation in the country. The project is one of a number to be launched by the EC with the aim of ensuring a robust and cohesive strategy for the Ukraine, that will cover all aspects of radioactive waste generation, storage and remediation, as well as covering decommissioning activities, and the Chernobyl legacy waste.
